Make mine My Chem

So-called tribute albums often wind up as being worthless one-band cover collections. However, instrumental tribute albums are often surprisingly eye-opening. Hmm...maybe that should be something about ears... Anyway, put this string-quartet "tribute" album to My Chemical Romance on my wishlist. [ Sample it, dammit! ]

Remember, their 3-disc demo collection/DVD set "Life on the Murder Scene" hits this week! (A whole frickin' $10 off at BestBuy this release week.)

In other music news, I went ahead and got myself a ticket to Hard-Fi's March 26 (Sunday) date at House of Blues. Still no word on support, but I'm sure some random band will be there to warm-up. I also have a ticket to The Sounds w/ Morningwood & Action Action on Friday April 7. Concert buddies would be good to have, ::hint, hint::.

I swung by GameRush to do a game trade-in, and seems the fellow I was dealing with's band played with Inspection 12 way back when. This came up because we were discussing bands on the Burnout Revenge soundtrack (which was playing rather loudly on one of the demo stations.) I don't know if it's the same band, but he told me to see his band The Varsity Lineup play at BackBooth.
