When the preview showed his name, the audience groaned

Did you guys see a trailer for a movie called "Lady in the Water" by M. Night Shyamalan? It looks incredibly intriguing, and though I don't think it will be the sort of "thriller" kind of movie his prior efforts were, I think it just might redeem him by trying his hand at a different kind of story.

Story. So what's the story behind this being a Warner Bros picture? Did Disney let him go because of the mediocrity of his last two films (and if they did, that's a major mistake), or did he not feel he was being treated right by Disney?

I don't think I'll be coming home tomorrow/today/Thursday because 1.) I'm not really packed/ready to leave and 2.) I don't really want to miss The OC or Reunion (which has been cancelled). So expect me home Friday.

Speaking of gay...

Seeing as how I've already seen King Kong, the next movie on my list to see is Brokeback Mountain (aka "that gay cowboy movie"). Its director seems to take on wildly different projects (previously Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon then Hulk...which I felt was a good movie). One reviewer I tend to trust says its the movie of the year, and that's a good enough sales pitch for me.

I'm sure "Mrs. Gylenhaal" Janel would want to go see it. Anyone else? I know a lot of us have differing tastes in film, but trust me when I say King Kong is almost the literal definition of not "worthwhile," as in not worth the three hours it runs. It's good, but not three-hours-good; it overstays its welcome.

Though... Bonus points if you can snap a pic of someone going to see King Kong wearing a DK tie. I'll outright give you the win if you have a group dressed as DK, Jumpman/Mario, and Paulina.
