Today I got a coupon off the web for a free nick(it) t-shirt at JC Penney. No purchase necessary. Of course I didn't feel like looking like a total mooch, so I soon found something else cheap to buy.....then found more. I came intending to get a no-strings freebie, and left with a $140 bill.
Here's the freebie shirt that started it all. Actually, it was pretty much the only one I remotely liked. Everything had some sort of "witty" sexual innuendo, including this one, but this is about as far as I'll go. (Aside from that "It's good to have a big banana" one...) Free is free, so...
Here's a double-zipper hoodie, so you can customize how it opens. This pairs up nicely inside the blazers, especially for filling them out.
Black pinstriped. The sale was only on M-XL. It would have been ideal to get a Small, but I didn't see any anywhere anyway. Oh well, it doesn't look incredibly loose...
And a taupe. I figured I might as well stock up on colors while they're cheap.
And here's a motorcycle jacket. Not leather, which explains why it was on sale, but still a surprising sale item.
So the marketing tactic proved successful. Lure me in with a good deal, and hope that I walk out with a lot more than I had planned. Each of those four jackets/coats were only $30 each, so that was a great bargain. The total was padded out by some casual socks I also picked up. Socks is expensive! All things considered, my receipts say I saved about $130-ish dollars!
Afterward, I swung by WalMart and completed this fashion spend-o-rama by getting some swank hangars.
While we're posting pictures, take a look at this obscenely cute pillow I picked up at Disney last weekend.
For $18 each, of course I could only grab one super-squishy pillow. Otherwise, you'd have to get the pair. Aside from Chip, they also had Mickey, Minnie, and Daisy. Yeah...plenty others missing. I would have grabbed the more nicely cutified Mickey, but I'm not a hardcore Mickey fan. Nintendo really needs to make a Pikachu version.
