Chapter 7
“Kyuhyun!”
Turning around, he smiled and pointed at the sky. “Want to watch the stars with me?” With him grinning like that, I momentarily forgot why I was here as I approached him. “You can see them clearly tonight.”
I couldn’t talk to him now, especially here. It was his sanctuary, and I was an intruder. It was even more unbearable than those other times I watched over him. “I-I’m leaving,” I informed him as I turned towards the door.
“Stay with me,” he requested as he grabbed my arm. “It’s beautiful tonight.”
Once I agreed, he released my arm and continued to regard the tiny stars.
Indeed, it was a beautiful night. There were no clouds, so the spotted moon generously showered us with a blue light. The lights of below us could not overwhelm the moon tonight, and the stars laughed brilliantly from their place in the sky.
Folding my arms around myself, I spared a glance at Kyuhyun, who looked mystified by the sight before him. The scar on his cheek marred his features and forever reminded me of what happened. It shouldn’t be there, I thought to myself. He was more than the accident, and it wasn’t right that the scar should sit so prominently on his face.
Sighing, I returned my gaze to the stars. “You know,” I admitted. “When I was ten, I tried to count the stars.”
He chuckled softly. “Really?”
“But I lost count after fifty.”
“When I was in the hospital, I tried to name them.” He continued to stare at the sky. “But I gave them all the same name, and it was terribly confusing,” he finished hollowly.
Moved by his confession, I reached out to hold his hand. He never talked about the accident before, at least not about the parts that mattered.
I suppose it was time to tell him. “You know what I did,” I informed him. “In the hospital. Why didn’t you say anything?”
He took my free hand into his, so now we were facing each, holding hands. It wasn’t instinctive; it was controlled, just like everything else about him. “Because you never said anything,” he whispered. “I didn’t know what to make of it. Guilt? Shame? Whatever.”
I freed my hands and took a step back, regarding him with a critical eye. “It was guilt as first,” I said softly. “But then things changed.”
“Of course things change,” Kyuhyun scoffed. “The accident wasn’t suppose to happen. And you weren’t suppose to be there. With me. In the hospital.” He threw up his hands in frustration. “And you know what’s sad?” I didn’t answer. “You always came back. Even when you were tired and could’ve been sleeping. And I loved you for it.”
Lowering his eyes, Kyuhyun clasped his hands behind his back, as if ashamed that he revealed too much of himself. He loved me. I never thought that I would hear that from him.
I hesitantly approached him. “I love you,” I said as I kissed him. “And I just kissed you. Where does that leave us?”
Laughing, he bent down to capture my lips in his. “I love you too. But no more secrets.”
“Absolutely.” I laughed. “Does that mean we’re KyuHae?”
He wrapped his arms around me so that we were only a few centimeters apart. “Yeah,” he whispered into my ear.
“We’d be great together,” I told him truthfully.
“Isn’t it nice to think so?”

Finished!!!!
A/N:::
1) Chapter 6: Dreams. Chess. Ariel. Donghae read The Tempest to Kyuhyun in the hospital, when he was supposedly asleep. A line from the play: "We are such stuff as dreams are made on, and our little life is rounded with a sleep. Kyuhyun said in Chapter 2: "We are nothing than our dreams, so all we can do is sleep and dream.
In regards to chess, Miranda and Ferdinand, the lovebirds in The Tempest, played chess. And Ariel is a character in the play as well. I thought that how Donghae found out that Kyuhyun knew was important. Also, Kyuhyun leaving hints is very cute and all mysterious-like.
2) The Ending: I only wanted to get KyuHae together. I don't want to talk about their relationship because I might break them up. The whole point of me writing this story was to have that final rooftop scene and Kyuhyun's last line.
