all the books

This is why Mint has been harassing me about my book spending. I ignored it at first, but when I saw Pearson had taken out my insurance on this paycheck (I guess this answers the "Will they take it out biweekly or every week?" question), it wasn't so funny. I bought all these books with the expectation that I'd have more than 60% of my paycheck. :/

Those two stacks are the paper books I bought this month. I bought a couple of hella overpriced ebooks from the Sony store too, because I wanted to see how shopping on my Reader worked. $12? Seriously, Reader Store? And you wonder why people pirate ebooks?

The 4 taller books on top are actually crochet books I bought at Home Ec and Joann. The rest are 18 of the 22 of the books I ordered online last week. Excluding the crochet books, that stack only cost about $80. They're all Cleis Press books because a couple of the submission calls I have on my watchlist are from Cleis and I wanted to get a feel for what they publish. Y'know, besides run-of-the-mill smut.

Half of this stack is from Barnes and Noble, and the other half is from Penguin. I have a few journals from BN too, but they didn't make it into the stacks.

shopping, why can't i just be paid to read romance
