hitting the lys for some sex so I can finish my ufo

Winter is over, which means no more knitting scarves -- well, maybe one more, since I bought yarn in MPLS. It's socks-and-blankets time again!

My current WIP list includes:
- Doctor Who scarf for nevereverposts (ongoing)
- big smooshy red scarf
- socks for fangrrl
- undetermined craft swap things for lousy_science
- purple snuggle blanket for me and crickettekirton

I've been perusing Ravelry for blanket yarns this morning, so I need to close some tabs.

I really like the grey-and-white middle between the color rows. Another picture shows how it works all bunched up like a blanket should be. This is the pattern I'm considering at the moment. I'm torn between the rainbow effect (I love the teal in the blanket; I can't resist teal) and using different purples for the color rows.

This ripple blanket has lots of purples in different yarns, which I'm a little wary of, because Homespun has a totally different weight compared to Simply Soft and Red Heart.

This one's not purple, but I like the different pinks in it; it would look good in purple too.

I like pieced blankets better than ripples, because they're more portable. And I like the way the colors work together in this one.

It makes hearts! The stitch pattern looks a little complicated close-up (it's double sided!), so that could be an interesting challenge.

This one is not very warm, because it's so lacey, but it is interesting.

This is actually a blanket pattern that someone used for a cushion cover, but I like the colors working together in it, and I do love me some hexagon blankies.

More hexagon blankets. This one is my favorite.

I really like this stitch pattern.

I also like this colorway.

I like how bright this one is; I think different purple circles would be neat. Or maybe a dark purple with light purple and white circles?

Again, not purple, but I like the way the colors blend together in this one.

This one is a granny square blanket that looks like a patchwork quilt!

This one looks like a super quilt!

And another quilty one.

It's not purple, but I like the yarns in this one.

Moar ripples.

Or I could always make a super rainbow ripple blanket.

And I'm compiling a list of purples in various acrylics to feel up at the yarn stores.
