I will probably start saying Chip-a-man-of-calamitous-intent from now on, since I know I'll start using it but it's a little long of an appendix (proper word?) to say... =)

As a noun "append" probably works. Alternately, might you have been thinking of "epither?"

I definitely meant epithet. Mistyped. Also, I'm pretty sure that the term is at least a valid way of talking about the formulaic addition of some title to a name ("breaker of horses" and such).

As I keep trying to guess what word you might've been thinking of: suffix?

Ugh, it's getting there, but I don't know. I feel like it's some sort of term for a post-nomen title. Appellation? Or is that just a name? Maybe epithet is right...
