It's April 3rd, a full four days into the baseball season and the Royals are still in first place. More than that, they're alone in first place of the AL Central, and they're the only remaining undefeated team in the American League.
Anyone ever see the Ray Bradbury Tales episode about the world that never got sunshine? The one kid was sure that there was going to be sunshine and everybody laughed at him and they locked him up, and then there was sunshine, for about five minutes. The only sunlight the kid saw was a sliver that came into the box he was locked into.
Call it melodrama, but I feel like that kid right now. I know the situation is still bad, and I know it's going to get worse, but for one more day I'm allowed to be in wonder of it all.
