Life 8 has been SOOOOOOOOOO intense!
So i start out in a familiar place close to mystery lake near the lake cabins and I'm going I'm looking there is a wolf on the lake but not near me
so I go loot the cabins all the while being vigilant and as I come out i see the wolf or at least another wolf is going the same way I'm going and I always go behind the hill to the other lake cabins and I go and usually there's wood, a corpse and a backpack this time only the back pack but as I go to search the backpack I HEAR growling so I light the flare i have and can still hear the growling so I swivel in place not moving because idk where it's at
I turn to where the dock is at and I THINK that's where it's at and confirm it when I see movement so I wait because my back was turned to it idk if the stand off will even pay off but it does and he goes and runs off and then goes back to patrolling and I go and loot the cabins here constantly looking to see where the wolf is at (still very far away) so I go to the very last fishing hut because it's remote and usually where u go if ur starting from the camp office which makes it the 2nd to last one that u check
so I go and I get a can opener at some point and this is awesome because I found A TON of pork and beans
As i make my way to the camp office i'm looking and checking and making sure there's no wolves and thankfully there aren't this time!
So I go in loot the camp office sadly there's no Carl on the top floor and this time instead of harvesting all the clothes I'm not going to use and repairing the ones I am using i put them away in a drawer and only harvest the newsprint and the newspaper roll for tinder plugs and drop those and I forage a couple times because I need to boil some water.
so I'm doing pretty good so far! and I'm a little hesitant to go find the trappers homestead because I've taken wrong turns before and it's pissed me off
so instead I go to the tunnel collapse then the derailment which holy crap has ammo on the hill above the frozen deer!
So i'm going I'm going I keep hearing sounds but figure it's just the wind and I get to the train loading area loot the two bodies there then go to the train bridge to loot the corpse there then go back because I plan to head to the logging camp.
I hear a wolf howl as I get to the train loading area and it's like right in front of me and I'm like alright I'll scare it off so i go closer light a flare and wait. Now he keeps shifting and I'm poised to hold sprint and run the fuck away should he attack but he doesn't he runs off and over a hill towards where I am going and usually there are deer there so I'm like yeah lemme see and THERE WERE TWO DEER which start freaking out as the wolf runs around them and then locks on one and takes it down and I'm likes YES SCORE so I go up behind it throw the flare and he gets scared off and :D i'm like YEASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
But stupid me for ALWAYS BEING GREEDY take all 20 some lbs from this deer which took like an hour or something (i forgot to mention i found a hunting knife in one of the lake cabins or fishing huts) so now I'm staving, exhausted and encumbered AND a freaking storm blew in but thankfully I am close to the logging camp and get into the first one
so i go and look put the raw venison away eat the food I have (i found TWO MRE'S in here and i think a can opener? not sure but I've found at least 3 or 4 by now. so i eat get something to drink put away the meat and sleep till morning (it's much better outside now) so i go to the other 2 trailers find A BUNCH of stuff and go back to the trailer with meat in it.
I make it so that I can carry all of the meat without getting encumbered(fir firewood a log some metal and i think some cloth?) and dash my happy butt back to the camp office not a wolf in sight :D
I get there forage a bit for wood (still only reclaimed wood which is fine i found a cedar near the logging camp)
i cook up most of the venison and then boil A LOT of water and by this time it's late so it's uber dark and there wasn't a lantern in the camp office or trailers so i light a match and make my way down the stairs to the filing cabinets and put most of my meat in there (it doesn't degrade as quickly then) and then go to sleep
Next morning (i've forgotten how long i've survived for honestly prolly less than 10 days so far) and I'm hesitant to go and find the homestead now because wolves have attacked me as i go out of the house so i let my mind wander as I go out of the house and then I run and make my way towards dead fall area and go the way I know to go
Sadly a fog rolled in and I was like well shit I mean I can see but not that far
I make it to unnamed pond...and well....let's just say I got lost and went in a circle and made it back to dead fall -_- so I sat in the broken house with the wood stove in it and was like...well...it's almost night time....if I sleep for an hour to save my game I'll either A save it fine or B get attacked by a wolf :/ before I decide what to do the fog lifts and I quickly....well as quick as I can considering I was exhausted before the fog came
and I FINALLY FINALLY make it to the homestead!
There was a gun and another 5 rounds so I have 10 bullets now!
some fir and cedar no foot lockers or extra hunting knife tho and the locker didn't need a prybar which I had found 2 of but left back in the trailer because I needed room
and at this point I need A LOT of water so i forage for wood get only reclaimed and use almost all 9 of them to boil up a bunch of water and cook the rest of the deer meat
it's at this point that i can repair the knife I have since i have like 4 or 5 can openers now and some leather and if I need more there's a deer out in the broken barn outside i can harvest the hide from (which I did) and I successfully repaired the knife :D
it's at this point that as I was eating food that I got food poisoning >.< so I take the meds and sleep for 6 of 10 hours and my mistake was eating more food because i got poisoned AGAIN and as I was going to sleep i saw my condition just plummet and I was like omg am I going to die?! but I was only down to 20 and I then noticed the poisoning so I took more meds and then slept for 6 hours drank water then slept for another 6 or whatever till I was better and my condition was better and then slept for one more hour JUST to make sure I had saved my game and that's when I called it a day
PHEW so fucking INTENSE prolly my best playthrough of it yet so now that I've a gun i can kill Fluffy if he's in the dam :D...oh i still have to go to the lookout as well and then back to the trailers to get the stuff I left there fir is hard to come by yo!
