To find out (one reason) why, I suggest reading a conversation between John Cantrell and Harvard Li in Cyptonomicon, pp. 312-315, and perhaps attempting to solve that problem.
If I do know you IRL and we're more than acquaintances, post a comment to let me know who you are (vague hints are fine, but mightn't help much; personal references welcomed via email) and why you're fun enough to hang around with online. Then I'll decide if I want to let you read my stuff.
