Da car

Ok, I figure I'll dedicate a whole post to it, cause frankly, I'm bored and I want to brag.

My little red coffee car was on it's last legs (again), so I started looking around for cars I wanted. I thought I wanted a new mustang, but the ford dealership talked me out of that quickly. So I kept reasearching, until this cute silver car drove by me on base. It looked nice and I caught that it was a mazda, so I gave the website a look.

That's when I saw the most beautiful car I've ever seen. It had exterior stylings fiting one of James Bond's car. It had Black and Red interior, and was all that I had dreamed of in a car. So I built one on the website. A button came up after building the car that asked me if I wanted to check availability, so I figured, "Heh, why not?" and checked. The exact car I built was in a dealership in Gaitherburg.

I got exited, but not stupid, and started researching the pro's and cons of the cars engine (Rotary engines are a bit different than your standard piston drive), and the cost. After stewing on it a week, I went to gaithersburg and said, "Show me this one." and handed him the window sticker.

Now onto the details. It's a 2006 Mazda RX8 with black and red leather interior. 6 speed Manual Transmission, Single disc CD player, and an In-Dash Navigation system. If you're checking online it's got the Grand Touring Package, and Nav.

Now, this car isn't all roses but I'll list the points:

The Pros:
Looks freaking sexy as hell.
Rotary Engines in General require less mainteance than standard piston driven engines
Rotary engines have higher take off speeds
Rotary engines have fewer moving parts, so they run smoother

The Cons:
Rotary engines actually USE oil. You have to check it more frequently than a standard piston driven
You cannot turn off the car once it's started, until the engine reaches a certain temperature (So if you start it, you have to drive it.....not really a con :P )
The engine is designed to run on 91 octane fuel, anything less will damage the engine (and since plus is 89 and supreme is 93 :\ )
16 mpg city / 24 mpg highway

So there you have the car. Now I just need some friends that want a ride. Any takers?
