We were in a library, and got attacked by an evil spirit and her undead minions. We lost, badly ;(
Sometime after that I was with a group of people playing and I decided to convince them that I'd learnt Chain Lightning. I figured that I could ensure the dice all rolled 1's (4d4) and claim that that was what I needed. Instead they rolled 1,2,3,4 so I just went and claimed that instead.
Then we were back in the library, and re-running the instance. This time I was prepared *giggles* I warned them that an evil spirit was approaching (evil, but rather cute, all done up in shadows and floating along) and suddenly we were surrounded by zombies etc again. Some zombie lady tried to attack me, and I started casting Chain Lightning. It was impressive: a skylight burst and lightning poured out of the sky into my outstretched hand. It was also lengthy, and the zombie lady had shuffled 1/2 way across the library by the time I'd finished. Still, she was my target so she got hit first, and brilliant white light arced out between undead, and it was pretty :) Damage counters in their thousands started going up, and I wondered if I wasn't a little too over powered. That feeling was revisited when later I was in a corner of the library and a zombie attacked me. He had 2 other zombies backing him up, and a further 2 looking disinterested nearby. He did a whole 5 points of damage to me, and I cast fireball. I had to explain to the zombie that no, fireball was an area of effect spell so it would get him, his mates, and the other 2 as well, and it would definitely kill them, and *sigh* The zombie kept arguing otherwise.
