“To chirp and hop and paint ninjas…”
By the signs of Daemonfall.
I think I’m getting better.
It's been two weeks of almost non-stop shifts at the military, and for some reason, it's fun. It's been VERY long since I've felt useful in the army, much less in the section I’m serving now - but ever since I got into some real work (even if it's a secondary intel war-room) and someone is ready to actually put to some good use some of my skills - life have been much better.
I'm almost two and a half years into the system, seen most everything anyone can see - field duty, front-line duty, rear echelon, real war and for some extant the life as a soldier. I do not compare it to the real soldiers out there that do the real toe-to-toe fighting (air, water or ground troops) but still. I've done what I wanted to do with the army - live it up, experience all sorts of things I can never experience outside a military organization.
Besides I’ve been practicing Photoshop art quite constantly - 12 hours shift leave me plenty of time to do the things I want to do. There is also a growing demand of maps and other types of general graphic works that I can provide. Even though the program is outdated (army license and everything) - I can still work around most tools that I am used to from the program installed on my computer.
I have been given all kinds of challenges to create with Photoshop and one good advice from a friend of mine... “don’t you dare say “it’s good enough” - that’s your art, and if you don’t push it all the way, that’s the way it’s going to look”. He’s generally not the most observant, but he does get the occasional insight that rocks my point of view.
He’s right. And I AM doing much better ever since.
With care,
Daemonfall.
