MAD WORLD
Michael Andrews/Donnie Darko version
All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places, worn out faces
Bright and early for their daily races
Going nowhere, going nowhere
Their tears are filling up their glasses
No expression, no expression
Hide my head I want to drown my sorrow
No tomorrow, no tomorrow
And I find it kinda funny
I find it kinda sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very, very mad world mad world
Children waiting for the day they feel good
Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday
Made to feel the way that every child should
Sit and listen, sit and listen
Went to school and I was very nervous
No one knew me, no one knew me
Hello teacher tell me what's my lesson
Look right through me, look right through me
And I find it kinda funny
I find it kinda sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very, very mad world ... world
Enlarge your world
Mad world
For some reason this song makes me want to cry. I say 'want to' because I lack the ability, as I have for the last five months. Oddly enough, the thing that brought about this emotional revival was a commercial for a video game, possibly the best video game commercial I have seen to date. If you are interested in watching it, you can find it
here . I can't wait until work is finished, then I can go back and finally get some sleep. Exhausted doesn't even begin to describe how I've felt lately. I need an adventure. This past week was better than normal though, I went to the bar Wednesday night with Alicia and played some pool (we need to do that again this week :-D ) and then we also went "rock climbing" at Dick's Sporting Goods in the Meridian Mall Thursday night before beer pong (okay so it's not really rock climbing, it's a climbing wall, but I climbed up the hardest path and almost made it to the very top, which had to be like 100 feet off the ground, or at least it seemed like it. I was within four feet of the bell, I made it past the overhang and everything, but I just ran out of steam. That's not to say I didn't try with all my might to make it up those last few feet, but my muscles were shutting down and I had to stop. It was a nice little mini-adventure, but I need a real adventure, like hiking or something. I need it soon too, cause I'm close to the breaking point.
