Today...New Orleans is in it's natural state...the waters are where they were always meant to be. Not only the US, but the entire world should take heed...Nature has a way of correcting itself. It was said 300 years ago, I'm sure, and I'm saying it again now.
You should not...build...a city...here. It's 13 feet below sea level, and is surrounded by water on three sides. It is the all too real atlantis of our generation. Let it be, I say. If it wouldn't so adversly affect me, I would burn my eyes, sever my ears from my head...no longer do I want to hear or see the goings-on of Luisiana and New Orleans. I'm tired of it. It was a damned city. And no I do not speak on a biblical level as I have heard others do. I do not think it is a "den of sin". I don't see the flooding as an act of god. I see it as all natural.
It is times like these that the greed and self importance of man is made evident. Watching the news, I see soooo many people complaining about the relief efforts. I hear Kanye West saying "George Bush does not care about black people." How do you think that makes all those selfless relief workers feel? 200 New Orleans police have already walked off the job. Two other workers have committed suicide. People are shooting at helicopters and contractors, stealing televisions and guns, A MAN SHOOTING HIS SISTER IN THE FACE FOR A BAG...OF...ICE. It's rediculous. I hate to sound cold hearted, but I don't really feel sorry for a majority of the people there. I feel sorry for the people's kids, their pets, more then I do for them.
