Squishy headcanon history for Mina
Boring stuff that's not incredibly likely to change:
He comes from a happy two-parent family because I'm a rebel like that. He's from somewhere in the Anglosphere by birth, probably America or Australia. He spent a notable amount of time in Japan as a child. He's two or three years younger than Rudger, but Rudger went through university and grad school at an accelerated rate so he sees their intellectual gap as even larger. He has a PhD in particle physics or some such. Their parents died when Rex was in his late 20s, but not both at the same time. He was 34 when Zero Reverse happened and will be/would have been 51 during the main action of the series.
Other stuff that I will likely make up/have made up as I go along:
Coming someday. I've dropped enough hints about it already, so I'll tentatively put it in writing that Rex did his undergrad at MIT. Since I've apparently established that they were in school together for at least a couple years, let's say Rudger was doing his graduate work there at around the same time. At some point after that Rex went for his doctorate at some university in the greater Domino area to follow Rudger and then got picked up by MIDS.
