First of all, the destruction of Durotar/Orgrimmar, the assasination of Cairne Bloodhoof, the ascension of Garrosh and the appointment of Thrall to a Guardian of Tirisfal all enrage me. Under no condition, for no amount of good or power would Thrall become the Guardian at the expense of the Horde and to the detriment of his allies. It's NOT in his character, and that is an unacceptable lore fuck. The destruction of Orgrimmar is incredibly unacceptable to me - the Horde has worked so hard to get where they are and now that whiney brown bitch is going to turn them back in to a ravening mass of blood hungry monsters? Yeah, lets DESTROY everything they've worked for and take away their warrior city they had to build in the fucking desert that nobody else wants, and you know what? Lets give the gnomes back Gnomeregon while we're at it. Fuck you Horde, fuck you.
Honestly, the whole concept of the alliance getting Gilnean Worgen (WTF) and the Horde getting Goblins back kind of annoys me, if they were neutral or represented a third faction, fine, but jeez it feels like a screw job the way it is presented there. The biggest single complaint I have is this:
Classic WoW has a feel to it. I love that feeling, the feeling of a vast world with mysteries to explore and great secrets lurking just below the surface.
Burning Crusade has a feel to it - a feel of exploration and rediscovery of lost lands, of vast racial conflicts that pervade the very essence of this new land (Draenei and Blood Elves), and of long standing lore issues coming to fruition (Illidan's Cadre, the sunwell, the Burning Invasion by Kil'Jaeden)
Wrath of the Lich King has a feel to it - the coming of the inevitable war, the discovery of new allies and lost secrets in the final conflict with Arthas, the eradication of the Scarlet threat, the final ascension of the Argent Dawn in to an actual bipartisan force to be reckoned with.
All of these themes are beautiful and distinct and the lore and quests and WORLD that they make up are important to me. Classic WoW is the world I came to 4.5 years ago and I still LOVE that world - I will play the first 20 levels of any race with joy to get that very specific and perfect feeling of that character and location...
And all of these plans will wipe that away. Destroy what we know, flood the old world, don't make new content just RUIN old content and forever lock away the classic experience. Sorry, I'm not interested - there's more than enough potential content out in the Maelstrom, the Emerald Dream and the Twisting Nether for them to make many MANY expansions without destroying everything that is already there. Change for the sake of change is not always good, and this is an abberation I can't except. If the only way to keep evolving and growing the game is to take away everything we already have, then you can count me out.
I'll fly my Violet Protodrake out to Grizzly Hills, settle in an area where I can see the beautiful view and hear the wonderful music, take one last picture in my full Tier 7 (which I am so proud of) and log out for the last time forever. It will break my heart, because more than anyone I know I love this game and I love the lore and I love being a part of it, but I won't be a part of this. Not so that QQers can have Flying Mounts in Azeroth.
