Nightmares for the little one.

She knew that it was tricky. Her parents didn’t even know she existed, but she had to try since the men that made her were planning on destroying her anyway. She was a failed experiment; they had wanted a perfect machine like Worthington had been at one time. She touched the lock on the door keeping her in her ‘room’.

Touching it lightly she closed her eyes. It took a little work, but she managed to freeze the lock enough. The twelve year old pushed the door open putting her shoulder into it to snap the lock. Knowing she didn’t have much time she slipped out of the door and down the hall. She needed to get out of the building before she could even think about finding help.

Find the ones they cloned me from... They'll help me right? She was four stories up, her wings weren't huge, but she had fallen from that height before, her wings helped slow her down, so she opened the window, slipping onto the sill. With a small jump she unfurled her wings letting them slow her so she could fall into a roll. Scrambling to her feet she ran, curling the wings against her back again. If she could make it to the river there was a chance she might be safe.

The small blond had managed to make it to the fence that surrounded the building before she felt the sharp pain in her leg. Stumbling she reached down the dart was sticking out of her leg. Pulling it out she managed to limp another few feet before the drugs in the dart did their job knocking her out.

“Hurry and get her back inside. The doctor is going to be pissed we had to drug her.”

“Well if someone had been doin’ their job inside the brat wouldn’t have made it this far. He’ll just have to wait for her to wake up to run his tests.”

By the time she woke the guards had left her strapped to a chair, her wings unfolded behind her, her wrists strapped down and another strap around her neck forcing her to sit up straight. They had made sure to make it so she couldn’t touch the chair to cool the metal enough to shatter it. The doctor was shining a light in her eyes making her flinch at it.

“They’re lucky they didn’t damage you.” It was the man with the pasty face and red mark on his brow. He touched her chin forcing her to look up at him and she closed her eyes, she wouldn’t show fear. She stayed perfectly still, her attempt had failed and she doubted they’d give her a chance to try again. Tugging with one wrist she found she couldn’t slip the metal cuff. “It’ll be okay, we’ll fix the problem.”

Seeing the needle in his hand she screamed, not knowing what else to do.
