Blue Christmas

Back to work today.  Boy that was tough.  I started power cleaning on Thursday night and never slowed down until Christmas night.  It was tough to get my fanny out of bed.  Had to go though, so that everyone can get paid at the end of next week.
Dunk's party was fabulous.  We had over 60 people.  More than enough food and booze to go around.  Family and friends mingled and talked.  The Martini's got to a couple of people.  But pretty much under control.  Sunday we celebrated Christmas with our oldest.  We had so much fun with little M & N.  They loved opening their gifts.  S & T headed home pretty early because of the threat of bad weather.  Christmas Eve was for all those wrapping chores that had been put on hold for the big party.  We headed over to Dunk's cousins for a short get together.  Aunt G was there.  Amazing how alert she is at 90 years old.  The quiet of Christmas morning was broken by the giggles of the cutie little one & two year old grandkids.  What fun to watch them play with their new toys.  We had enough lull after they left and their Dad picked up 3 of their half-sibs.  What a wonderful treat to see them since we never did last Chirstmas.  The first hour plus of their two hour visit was their time to kind of warm up and get comfortable.  This relationship takes so much patience.  I love those kids, but I can't make them love back.  It made for a bit of a misty eyed Christmas.  We then ended up at Dunk's sisters and had a nice visit there.
So .... I never made it to my mom's on Christmas Day and I was happy to have a long lunch today and a visit from Mom & M&M.  We toured the Animal Clinic which was great, after eating more of the party left overs.  After going back to work, M,D, little M, & N were visiting.
I really can't wait for this coming weekend which will be much less hectic.
