Just a short update from Romania!
I am currently very comfortably sitting in front of stingoo's computer, while he is making dinner for me :) Serbian Rice, YUMMMM :) We went shopping together, and I had my first experience of a Romanian supermarket, experiencing once again the effects of Globalisazion. Same stuff as in Italy, Germany, Anywhere. Really. Same brands, same everything. Sigh. I did find some Romanian chocolate, which tastes excellent, though. And I bought Rose jam, which I can't wait to try out.
The meeting this morning with all the top people went well, I had planned to speak in English because I kind of felt too lazy to prepare anything in Romanian, but then realized that 3 of the participants did not speak any, or VERY few English, and it would have been a big bother if somebody had to translate everything into Romanian every time I spoke, so well, I improvised. And it went well. My ego received those BIG strokes which it needs so dearly and now I am speaking Romanian even with stingoo which is a first, because we have always spoken English together. (and yes, indoubtly part of the merit for this goes to abburell who has been a big help over the last month :)
Well, now I will go and look over stingoo's shoulder as he cooks (there are SUCH wonderful smells coming from the kitchen...!), and then we'll eat and watch the football match Romania-Luxembourg, all those beautiful guys running around ;)....! Hai România :)
Tomorrow morning more meetings and the Tourism Fair, then at 5 pm back to Italy. I don't even want to THINK about the fact that probably for 2 months I won't come back to Romania :(((((.. *sob*
(And yes, I like it here more every time I come.. today I even survived a 20 minute journey on the subway during rush hour in a completely PACKED train.. without any problem. Which is truly a sign I am at ease, with the place and the people. Oh yes)
