Cornucopia
fare well to you, dear summer
with those last sweet rays of sun
barely reaching my cup of tea
fare well, sweet, slow mornings
of musing and remembering
half shadowed, half bright
fare well, my orange blossoms
smiling into my dreamy eyes
lighting them for the day
fare well, whispering, balmy wind
softly drying my showered hair
caressing my nude feet and legs
fare well, long, breathless afternoons
with your questionless caresses and kisses
your glistening sweat, bliss and exhaustion
fare well, my beautiful, singing lover
of one long, confused summer
full of strange and heavy dreams
fare well, sweet obsessions and illusions
ripened together with the grain, with the fruit
and now ready to fall, with them
fare well, summer and harvest moons
Mabon holds court from today
time to thank, to reflect, to retire
Blessed Be.
