Chasing the Clouds Away (locked to temple residents & one guest amphibian)

Rose loved being a big sister. She loved it alot. She got to hold the babies and help change their diapers (maybe not the most fun part) and sometimes she even got to help feed them. They were so cute and precious, with their little wings and their tiny fingers and toes. She was happy for them, too, because baby Brigid and baby Angus had the ( Read more... )

A little tiny wet nose poked at the unoccupied hand. She was still a baby herself, but no one paid attention to her sense the new ones came along.

With a little "Oh!" of surprise, Rose looked down and saw a little ball of fluff nudging her hand. "Hello, kitty!" she said. "Where did you come from?"

Nuddging the hand again, Tiger wanted cuddles and this one looked like she needed them too. Her lady was busy with the kittens.

"You're lonely too, aren't you?" asked Rose as she gently picked up the kitten and set it on her lap. "Mommy's been really really busy with the babies. Daddy, too." She sighed again, and began to stroke the soft fur. "I kind of miss them," she said softly.

Purring and placing her front paws on Rose's chest, she head butted her chin. She missed her mistress, but cuddles with the elder cub was great too.

"Me, too," she said, gently scooping the kitty up into her arms and hugging her. "Sometimes I think they forget all about us, because they're so busy." She scratched Tiger behind the ears. "Sometimes I think . . . maybe they don't really want me any more. Because now they've got cute little babies."

There was a nagging little fear, deep down inside of Rose. She knew it was silly in her head, but inside her heart, she was afraid she'd lose her family and the love they gave her . . . just like the way her birth mother had left her . . . That they wouldn't want her any more.

The kitten mewed and batted at the cubs nose. How could she be so silly to think that? She could tell the master and mistress still cared for their cub. It was just the young cubs needed lots of care.

Rose laughed at the kitty's antics in spite of feeling a bit sad. It was almost as if she could understand what she was trying to tell her. "You're trying to tell me I'm being silly to worry, aren't you?"

Mewing again, as if to say yes. Then giving Rose a lick on the nose and purring again. Cuddles were great.

Rose gently hugged the kitty against her. It was hard not to worry. She'd gotten used to spending lots of time with her Mommy and Daddy and missed it so very much. She tried to be grown up and understand, but it was going to take some time.

"I love you, Tiger," she told the kitten and kissed her little nose.

Licking Rose's nose as if to say she loved her back, she snuggled into the cubs chest and purred.
