i was free...for one day.

Dec 10, 2006 22:08

because i had been (has been/have been/will have been...c'mon guys, practice your perfect tenses! haha!) a prisoner in this house for way too long, i went out yesterday.

yes. i did. i rockwell-ed. lol.

BAAAAD IDEA.

i thought i would be fine. but nooooo. alam niyo naman ako, tingin ko sa sarili ko superwoman. lol!

gahd.

walking at a normal pace (MY normal pace, with MY long legs...uh...hehe) was just impossible. it's a good thing that rockwell isn't like SM or galleria where people end up like sardines in a can *shudders* can you imagine if someone bumped into me or nudged my wound? AAAACCCCKKK!!! patayan na 'to! LOL! am glad that i had a "bodyguard" who could "box out" anyone who came within my personal space. hehe. still, i managed (or rather forced myself) to buy a few things i needed. like FLAT shoes *blech* and havaianas-es (eh more than one pair eh. haha!). i was pooped right after that so we just killed time at starbucks (where i got my 2007 planner! yey!) before watching happy feet.

i'd have to agree with jason_francisco's happy feet review. the baby penguins were indeed cute and adorable, and every time the "let me tell samting tu ju" character of robin williams spoke his lines, i couldn't contain my laughter. for a small "guy", he's got one huge ego. lol! the cinematography and the digital effects were simply awesome. one more thing that amused me was the arrangement of the songs performed by the penguins. being a music afficionado, this kept me entertained. and yes, i did like the lessons that this movie tried to impart, simplistic though they may be: (1) belief/confidence in one's abilities, (2) being different doesn't equate to being bad, and (3) humans are not the only living things that need to survive. on the other hand, the storyline was indeed quite off, as cj put it. mumble's solution to the scarcity of fish seemed forced. seriously, tap-dancing to save his colony? c'mon.

shopping, mall, links, movies, saturday
