I'm not going to comment on what people think about if its either nation who's responsible for the slaughter of Doma, but I can only say this.

Its not the fact of the culprit that's to be asked, but rather the reason behind this unreasonable killing. Doma was a town in the Badlands - a neutral town - but yet now its dead along with its citizens ( Read more... )

Too few are questioning the reason. There were no reported lootings. What gain would pirates have with the action, to implicate themselves, then not even reap the benefits?

Someone always gains something. Doma wasn't wiped out without a reason, but how do you propose anyone discover it?

I suppose that's the question we all have to work towards to find out. Once we know the reason, the truth will become clear.

The flaw is without a clue as to who there's no lead on why, but without a good idea of why, finding out who would be almost impossible.

Then we can only guess that that might have been the criminal's intention all along - stir fear into the hearts of people with their faceless crimes.

Possibly, that's one motive. But fear why? Because they get off on it? To incite panic? To soften the public up for some reform?

At the moment anti-pirate sentiments are the highest I've ever seen. It would be easy to get public opinion behind funding a pirate hunt now.

If it were just the pirates themselves, that would be one thing. But the mention of the poison manufactured in Ivona soil is something to be taken note of as well. If truly they wanted Vohemar gone, why implicate themselves as well?

Remember the reports conflict. The Ivonian report says nothing of Black NAT, it's a separate, unnamed source that implicates its use.

Either the Ivonian nurse lied to keep it secret, or the second source lied to shift the accusation.

Somewhere there is deception involved, and I highly doubt it's confined to the reports on the toxins used.

But in the end, the end result is achieved. Now tensions are even more harsher than ever. All that prevents the outbreak of a real war is a trigger event to set everything in motion.

Who is to say capturing the 4423 won't be that event?

daddys_bear February 9 2009, 14:07:10 UTC
No, that won't be it. The 4423 has already been under enough suspicion as it is ever since the incident in Kropmork back last July. It more likely that they're being used as a scapegoat instead.

Oh yes, I've little doubt they're a scapegoat.

But their alleged involvement certainly increased the tension.

I guess that's precisely why they're putting that ship under fire. Perhaps even feed the ship and her crew to the wolves, if worse comes to worse.

Yes, who would defend a crew of pirates, especially one that notorious?

They're a perfect bait for an angry populace. No one would defend them, most would love nothing more then to believe their involvement, don't you think?

That's the ironic beauty of it all. Pinning the crime on an unfortunately-notorious ship that's actually innocent.

Exactly. Who'd even want to question it?

No one would. Not when they have a window to let out all their fear and frustrations towards.
