1. I doubt there's anyone here who hasn't read
underlucius's fiction for a while, but just in case you missed it,
Drug Colours. It knocked me on my ass. I love it.
2. This just tickled me, because I watch
deleterius and I have long been a despiser of canon-rape and Sues: it's a Kill Bill parody by
malefics and well worth reading. The style is sparse and a little rushed, but includes some gems of characterization and language.
Slaughter the Author. 3. Another parody, linked because it had me in stitches.

Novel:
1. "Sunshine" by Robin McKinley. I picked it up based upon pages of glowing reviews, including one by Neil Gaiman. At first I wasn't as enthralled as I expected. The style is sprawling and involves paragraph-long mid-sentence exposition, which was being thrown off a train for me. Then the action started, and I was immersed in this unique world in a constant war with Dark Others, including the most interesting and logical vampires I've seen in a blue moon. The story has a Beauty in the Beast style "romance" if you want to call it that, a very savvy and realistic, neurotic heroine who has very interesting abilities and a great sense of humor. It sucks you in and doesn't stop, and is worth adding to any vampire-junkie's collection.
