so i pretty much just got back to my apartment. me and cody went to the the descent which was stupid but i still kind of liked it. it was one of those gory for no real reason type of movies, but what do you expect from the people who brought you saw and hostle. the whole premise is that these six women go into this cave and then get trapped, of course, and there are things down there. deadly things that eat people. it was sort of scary but not really but sometimes it's fun to get lost in the moment. question: why would i go into a cave that doesn't have a name in the hopes of "discovering" it? that's lame and completely dangerous. but hey, sometimes you eat the bear and sometimes the bear eats you. in this case, the bear is a bunch of semi-human cave dwelling people who are blind but have evolved to live in total darkness. they can climb like monkeys and they happen to love human flesh, why wouldn't they? so i'm going to give it a 2 out of let's say five, simply because after a while some of the girls go completely ape shit and start killing cave zombies all willy nilly. one girl just thumbs one through the eyes until it stops moving. unnecessary but pretty kick ass. so ok for the wrap-up; if you want to see a movie thta might startle you in a predictable fashion, that's filled with gore and unnecessary back story go see the descent. it's not the best $7 you've ever spent but it's not a waste of the $5 you pay during the week.
