Mo Monster In Da House

I'm always posting pics and stories about Miss Olive and her sister told me that she was feeling unloved, so I finally got a good pic of our 16 year old kitty to share her flip top ears with the world.

She's a Scottish Fold mutt kitty that my ex surprised me with in June of 1994. She's become an even bitchier kitty in her middle age though. She loves me to death, she sleeps curled up on me when I'm sleeping, she has to be in my lap when we're sitting and watching tv, and she wants nothing to do with her other Daddy. She's gone deaf, so she can't hear herself miaow, so she just howls at the top of her lungs a lot...and by a lot, I mean LOTS & LOTS! Two months after I got her, I got my golden retriever Boo, so the 2 of them grew up together and she loved her big brother sooo much. She would dance figure 8's around his paws, and she would curl up with him on the bed or the loveseat. After having to put Boo to sleep because of health reasons, Missy Mo went into complete meltdown mode and we thought that we were going to lose her.

It took a couple weeks for Mo to realize that her brother was gone, but once she did she started mourning. I have never before or never since, seen an animal mourn the way Mo did. She stopped eating and drinking and she would just sit in her litterbox and not come out. We would remove her from the litterbox and try to hold and pet her, but she would immediately jump down and run back to her box and just sit there. After a couple weeks of this, we took her to the vet and she was checked out as fine. We brought her home and she continued her strange behavior. After another couple weeks we took her back to the vet and she had lost over 3 pounds in the previous 2 weeks. And when you only way 10 pounds and you lose 3 pounds....needless to say both her daddies were worried sick. After almost 2 months, she got over her litterbox hiding, and she went back to her old self, a lot thinner though. It made me realize how our children get emotionally attached to things too.

At 16, she's a hell of a kitty. A bitchy vocal broad that is set in her ways. I wouldn't have her any other way.

kitty, mo
