Clearly this was no Katrina..but when something like this hits your town you're not really thinking of it that way....

Let's start with our property...

Now this is an interesting pic..this is shot from my driveway looking across the street to my neighbors house. You can see that my Norfolk Pine was cut down before the storm..thank goodness...cause all of these big beautiful 30 year old trees fell like toothpicks...my neighbors fell on 4 cars next door to him ..

This is what all the pines look like that are left standing. Plucked clean of all the branches except for the very top.

This is a pic from the side of my neighbors yard. I took this cause you can see the VERY tall palm that is on my property..amazingly it was just about the only tree left standing. How lucky are we that it didnt fall on our roof!

This poor sweet old woman lives down the street from us. She has a coconut palm in her front yard. Those coconuts were like cannon balls hitting her house.

Now I have to show you all our set-up at the house. I am all about being prepared and honestly we did pretty good without the electric for two weeks. Thank goodness it wasn't very hot those two weeks. The weather post-storm was gorgeous.

This is our little pathetic battery operated TV...I think I'll have to upgrade this for next season LOL!

our mood lighting...like we had any choice!

our power supply...

our kitchen...can't believe i left the kitty litter in the kitchen!

fuel for the kitchen..

gotta have water!

There were so many other great pics that I could have taken, but after a day or two I was so burnt out by all of this.
I regret not getting any pics of the office building..we still have a sticker on our front window that says unsafe building..that's really good for business!
