So apparantly the silt has built up in the fraser river, and many sail boat, house boat and yacht owners are frustrated because it may damage the boats.
WAKE THE FUCK UP PEOPLE!! we have people still living in emergency trailers from Hurricane Katrina, the new crisis in Myanmar, and that crazy thing thats going on between Tibet and China over the olympics!!
Does anyone remember that the games are supposed to be about coming together to achieve a mutual goal? That they are about sharing something really special, and most importantly, about physical health and prosperity???
Why do we live in such a wasteful "disposable" society where we throw away soooo much garbage?? Why is everyone so spoiled and so self important, sporting their entitlement like a gold medal??
Why can't everyone realise and see the bigger picture? Why do we have war? Why do we always have to be out for numero uno? Why can't we help each other?
Something tells me once again that the answer is Money. I feel ashamed of it. It feels like some taboo affair whenever I pull out a bill, change or plastic. I hate it, yet I love and need it so much, just like everyone else in the world and it makes me sick. It makes me sick because all the problems in the world right now could be solved with the execution of the all powerful dollar.
Also, WTF is about these people being all like "Oh! I'm GREEN because I unplug my cell phone charger when I'm not home! And now my friends all do it too!!" "I'm GREEN because I buy certified organic products and use cloth bags instead of plastic bags!1"
First of all, there is NO such certification for organic, and many products claiming to be GREEN are in fact not.
And what about things like cycling, or reading your newspaper online?
Are these people going to put anything towards some better solutions?
No, because we are privileged or entitled and it's too inconvenient.
