if you write or take photography, or do anything creative on a machine, let me say this--back up your work online. i lost my laptop in march, and my parent's machine which had some stuff i wrote on previous visits to their place crashed recently. not nearly enough of my work had been emailed around or posted places, so i lost a lot of garbage and a few gems. back your stuff up--i can't stress that enough.
