defeat and failure are funny. they are funny insofar as laughter is an appropriate response to terror, which i think very much it is. and what is so terribly funny about it?
most if not all of those villains and monsters out there in the big, scary world that are going to ruin our lives are really internal to ourselves. we are the monsters, the giants if you will, and therefore--and perhaps this is the scariest of all--we have the power to quell and overcome them. the onus is upon us.
