I always hated those yuppie assholes with their Bluetooth headsets, that whole "ooh, i might get a call any moment because I'm Movin On Up In The World" thing, the sleazy real-estate-agentness of it all. And I hated them for the ostentation of talking anywhere and everywhere
But then I got this new phone because my old one wouldn't charge and the send button wouldn't work and it turned off at random times and sometimes it wouldn't ring. And the deal to get a car charger made it actually cheaper to get one of these damn earpieces than not.
With it in, I can call by voice recognition without even training the phone to recognize me, or I can call out numbers and it never gets them wrong. I can run around and do other things while on the phone. It's almost as though the thing disappears, becomes a part of me.
And with it in, and my cheapo aviator glasses on, I kind of feel like a cyborg, the 80s cyberpunk kind. Just a little. And I have something of a weakness for that...
