In the last three months I have started a new job, found a new place to live (which I haven't moved into yet) and recorded an album with Scarlet's Well. All of these things have been very positve in themselves, but having them all happen at once has been just a little bit stressful. And they all deserve seperate entries about each of them, if I ever get around to that...
But just as a brief update, I am now practically working full time at the college, even though I still have a part time contract, not a particularly satisfactory situation, but the extra hours and money are very welcome. And in other ways the job is good and a positive step away from local authority work (I really hope that I never have to work with another miserable social worker again!). I'm lucky that my employers were able to offer me the extra hours, because I will be moving to a flat in Crouch End with
pollitesss at the start of next month, and both of us had a bit of a nasty shock when we saw what we could (or rather couldn't) get for our money. However, after lots of manic phonecalls to estate agents and a number of viewings of places that a seasoned squatter would turn their nose up at, we found somewhere that was just about affordable, in a good condition, and as Jo put it, 'has storage coming out of its ears'. Not that it has ears as such, but anyway. So I'm now counting down the days until I move out of the topsy turvey Tottenham house, where my room is now way to small to house me and my ever growing family of musical instruments, but I'm dreading the packing up process and actual moving day.
Oh, and the album sounds great so far, but you won't be able to hear it until September.
