There are storms and blackouts tonight in New York which means that I can't get home. Parts of the subway are down and apparently there's no power above 86th St, so its pointless even trying. Luckily, my friend Em who is a fellow volunteer is staying in a really nice brownstone just one block down from where I'm working, so I've come here for food and shelter for the night. Have just seen a massive cockroach the size of a mouse in the kitchen, I freaked me out so much I had a panic attack and couldn't go back in there for half an hour. Childish behaviour I know, but I'm terrified of anything that has the potential to crawl up my legs.
Other than that, I'm still having a good time. Work is really good, I'm really enjoying it, more about that another time. I'm starting to feel a bit wacked now, I really need to get a proper night's sleep at some point. I wish I had bought my make up with me this morning, I'm going to look like shit tomorrow, but there we go.
