I think that I must be the only person in London who didn't see the giant elephant this weekend.  With my cold still persisting and my nose still streaming I didn't think it would be a good idea to go and stand in the rain, even for the elephant's sake, so the weekend was mostly spent indoors doing what can only be described as faffing.  I spent a ( Read more... )

Tell me, I am the last person who would laugh! Also I will look into the shared ownership flats because it has to be better than putting up with landlords...

I'm going through all the music on my hard drive, most of which I originally copied from Rick's computer, and some of which I need to delete to make more space for my own music. At the weekend I was listening to the Stone Roses which I thought I'd hate now, but was surprised to find that I still liked. Today we're on to Suede. (Is it you who hates Suede?) The Head Music album hasn't improved with age, its still shit.

I have no problem whatsoever with Suede - I never bought any of their records but I have been known to dance to them in clubs. My old housemate was obsessed with them and in the fan club etc. so I kind of like them just for making him happy!

That flat looks so cool, I even thought about arranging a viewing just for a laugh, but I know that I wouldn't be able get a mortgage even for half a flat right now on my soon to be 12 hours per week, so I shouldn't torture myself. I can just imagine me and my house plant moving in there though, and I'd turn the boat house into my music studio come party space. I'd still come and visit you in Spondon Road occasionally though...

Hopefully you'll soon be working enough hours to buy at least part of a flat (and boat house studio!) If my full time (but meagre and non key worker) hours are enough to buy even a quarter of a flat I probably should think about it.

I think that the minimum you can buy with this scheme is 50%, but do the eligibility test because the criteria aren't that strict.

Maybe they'd just let me buy the boat house by itself, that would be better than nothing!
