The end of work and the start of education...again

Thursday was the last day at my work; I was too lazy to go to work yesterday. Even though this summer has been the most boring one for me in years for I just worked at PSU and did nothing else, I learn many skills and knowledge from my co-workers nonetheless. Besides the electronics concepts I managed to grasp during the short period of time, my experience there taught me some "common sense," too. One thing I learn from Patrick, who is 15 year my senior and my mentor in many ways, is to leave room for advancement when designing a circuit. He said there will always be some one asking "can you add this feature to it" right after the completion of the board (and it did happen). Another "wisdom" I received is to pay attention to detail and what I am doing. I really should not be sleeping when I am assembling and wiring circuits, or else I'd probably blow some very expensive equipments.

Patrick and other guys I worked with at PSU are very social and humorous. This is also the reason why I have been a little more boisterous than I was a few months ago. These people are also quite anti-Bush. I guess most people living in urban Portland are liberals. They gave me a few "deception dollars" (with Bush's face on the front) a while back, and I think I still have them (I should give them to Mr.Morgan). But when Pat went to Southern Oregon to visit his family, he notice that it's a whole "Bush" country down there. The only news his grandparents watch is Fox news.

By working with these people in the summer. I realized that my college life will be more "influential" to my personality than I have predicted. Just like most of my other friends who start attending college this year, I am total pumped to begin a new life at a new place. I'll head down to OSU this coming Monday. But I'll come back again for a doctor's appointment. Leaving Clackamas, the place I have lived in ever after I came to US, is tough, and I will miss all my high school friends with passion.
