one year
how time flies. been a year since i first set foot here. i remember the eve of my departure, the scene at the airport with mama and papa. i must have looked silly then cos i was crying the whole time even when i was being bodysearched! the sebs recalled i was too quiet when they met me that day. a rarity in my case!
but that was then ... now, ive settled in well. the transition was swift and easy. thanks to friends and strangers; some of whom i consider my family here. thanks to them the 359 days (minus the days i spent with them in May, if my math is right) away from home had been bearable.
the coming year is still uncertain. but already it seems promising. i hope to get into the baylor sked. this would allow me time to try out the hospital setting. probably get into graduate school. and maybe .. just maybe be an APRN. that's thinking way too ahead... meanwhile i'll just keep on enjoying my american life.
