My day with a Urologist
Well I wound up back at my regular Dr. yesterday because the pain and swelling had gotten worse in the right testicle. My Dr. managed to call the Urologist and get my appointment bumped up to this morning.
They did a blood workup on me to look for cancer and tumor markers in my blood. But from looking at my ultrasound results. And examining me himself. He really doesn't feel that it's anything cancerous. There's a lot of fluid built up in there. What he's pretty sure it is. Is a very, very rare condition of Testicular Mumps.
I had never heard of them before. I kind of started laughing when he told me mumps of the testicle. There's really nothing they can do for it but let it run it's course. Which usually takes anywhere from four to eight weeks. Oh Joy!! He said he has a feeling since it's already been four weeks now. That I should start to see signs of it getting better soon. He also said he should have results of my blood tests back by tomorrow. And if any markers do show up (which he doubts there will be) He'll give me a call right away.
