A hell of a year so far! And it's only January 8th!
First, I get engaged on New Year's Eve. What a way to start the year already!!!! I can't tell how happy I am.
Then, a few days later and after a great second interview, I get a full time data entry job with Love's Travel Stops. No more customer service. No more dealing with people on a regular basis. No more OCCC (couldn't get the tutoring hours I wanted and no classes were available), no more ROSE lab (still teaching there), NO MORE SEARS!!!! I get my own cubicle and computer!!!! I don't start until next Monday, but I am already psyched!!!!
And then last night. The smile is still on my face. LSU IS THE COLLEGE FOOTBALL NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!!!! TAKE THAT AND STICK IT UP YOUR ASS USC!!!! NO SHARING THIS TIME!!!!
Yes, USC and not Ohio State. I have no ill will against Ohio State, who basically had the crap beat out them by the LSU TIGERS last night! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT! GEAUX TIGERS! NATIONAL CHAMPS!!!!! YEAH BABY!!!!
Stanford gained a new fan this season after they beat USC. I still remember the photographs, the shocked looks on people's faces, like they were trying to comprehend how STANFORD just won against USC. It was PRICELESS!
Apparently, that oh pity us attitude, hey looked we beat the snot of Illinois so we should be number one, had an effect on the AP poll. USC was ranked #2! What the HELL? How do you lose to STANFORD and still be ranked #2?!?!?!?!
And of course, leading up the game and still today, USC continues to whine and moan. Even some of the sports writers are calling them the best team of NEXT year. Uh huh. Who's won TWO, count them TWO BCS CHAMPIONSHIPS NOW? Who DIDN'T lose to STANFORD? Whose regular season schedule is the hardest and whose is a frakking JOKE? This is one reason the BCS needs to change. I am so sick and tired of USC being coddled by that system. Did anyone else roll their eyes when USC was matched up against Illinois? That was a massacre waiting to happen! Why not GEORGIA vs USC? Oh yeah, USC would actually have to PLAY to win that game, something they're not that used to in their weak ass regular season schedule!
Put USC against an SEC team, dammit. Oh wait, they'd have to EARN a win that way. Wouldn't want those pansy ass USC players getting their nails or uniforms dirty! I swear, that team is becoming as bad as the San Francisco 49'ers used to be, another California dynasty worshipped like gods. This is the reason I'd LOVE to see some sort of playoff in college football. I don't care about the Rose Bowl losing it's luster. It's about damn TIME that the SEC got a LOT MORE respect, and teams like USC would have to actually EARN a championship.
I love that LSU won last night, but it would have been so much sweeter if we'd played USC and shut them up ONCE and FOR ALL! Who knows, maybe they lost to Stanford on purpose so they'd get the Bowl game they really wanted. I know I wouldn't want my stuck up, Ivy league, BCS bowl baby team humiliated by an SEC team!
Come down south and play some REAL football, USC! EARN your championship for once! Then you MIGHT get some respect from us in the SEC! No wait, we still wouldn't respect you. I don't think we EVER will.
