(no subject)
dont be afraid of the length of this entry. i just post weekly instead of daily. its more efficient, but longer at one time. read it anyway.
so the ski team overnight and meet on friday were cancelled. big check in the sad column. but they were rescheduled for 2 weeks from friday, so thats good. surprise meet this friday after midterms, which is cool. its slalom...dear god. we did this huge slalom course yesterday all afternoon. it was the hardest one wildcat has ever set for us. they had some little tricks, like get us going fast and then mess us up with some tight hairpins. it was the first course all season that i have come out of breathing heavily, which is a cool feeling. but the meet. its at pats peak. no overnight tho, which is kinda good because i can't go to practice on saturday. on thursday we have the ski team pizza party thing and tuning. so i thought i wouldnt get any ski team this week but i do, which is cool.
so i can't go to practice on saturday because i have to go to unh for this big scholarship thing. the tyco scholarship interview process is saturday and sunday. its like a big lunch thing, campus tours, interviews, and a special dinner and then the next day its a brunch followed by a question answer session. there are only 5 finalists, and i am one of the five. which is pretty cool, considering they get applicants from all over the nation. free ride thing. hopefully i get it because then i can try and bargain with RPI for more money. i sent in my financial aid stuff to them this past week and hopefully they get back to me quickly with everything paid for.
i contacted the head guy (i guess he's the head of it all, the only email address at the website) and talked to him about ski team at RPI. if i go to RPI i will be on the ski team there hopefully, and that will be awesome. they train 2 nights a week and have meets all weekend and they go to a big mountain in the north for a week during xmas vacation. loads of fun, hopefully i can get in on that, i just have to get money for RPI. if i go there i will definitely do the ski team.
my dad made me apply to 3 more colleges. university of delaware (cuz some guy he knows there said something about giving me a bunch of money, hence bargaining with RPI), RIT and U of Rochester. i dont want to go to any of them, but my dad wants more bargaining chips. funny side note: all the applications were sent in jan 15 like they should be, and i forgot to send in any of the application fees. i am going to call all 3 admissions offices on monday just so i can notify them and so the checks dont get misplaced when they arrive on their own.
