Lambo-5

AAAhhhhhhhh......yes. Another year of the College and Career Retreat has come to the end, and I can truly say that this has probably been the best year ever, out of all the ones in the past. Even though we only had about 26 people for the retreat, we still had a SMASHING, BASHING, THRILLING time and experience. I will now go into full detail.

It all started with the NEW YEAR'S BASH, which had been promptly named by Ali and Di, LAMBO-5. We started off the festivities with about 40 minutes of an awesome, kickoff, worship session. We then moved down to the longhouse for the party and the awesome food and fellowship. There were homemade buffalo wings, courtesy of Grandpa Haggan, and other fantastic goodies. We then rang in the New Year with a bunch of hootin and hollerin, horn blowin, and just plain craziness. Then it was proceeded by a 2 hour, No-limit, Texas Hold'em game(w/ real chips, but no money), which ended with our worship leader, John Bosse, turning into our Chip leader and winner.

Saturday was another awesome day. The morning session(Worship and Message from Dennis LeBlance) was a great kickoff to the day and the rest of the weekend. The worship service was punctuated by our theme song for the weekend, "How Great is our God," by Chris Tomlin. Then DLB spoke on God's plan throughout the Bible and laid in out in full detail. Real heavy stuff and it really got us thinking. We then played a difficult Scavenger Hunt throughout camp, had a awesome lunch, then an awesome game of ultimate frisbee in the wet and cold during afternoon freetime. Then it was the afternoon session, which made our brains think again. Then in the evening we had an awesome CHAT ROOM that had deep questions asked. The topics discussed were God's goodness in natural disasters, salvation, theology, Rapture and end times, and many more. And let me tell you, it made all of us think real hard and realize that we need to do more research and seek more of God's wisdom, which He gave us a lot of during that time. Amen!

Then Sunday came, with an outstanding remembrance service, that was mainly focused on God's love, which hit home for everyone, and really showed how the Holy Spirit was moving. Then another session of worship and message from DLB. In which Dennis challenged us Christians to seek what God had planned for us individually. Another challenging session which made everyone ponder what God had in store for them. Then a chilling time of freetime with crazy indoor games of Mafia and Four on the Couch or napping.......This all led up to a great Worship and Testimony time after dinner in which all of those who got up talked about how God's Faithfulness and love had really affected their lives; and that He is everywhere and always there for us, and all we need to do is look for Him and serve Him in a humble and loving way. A great time which really touch my heart, as I am sure it did everyone elses. It truly showed to me How Great Our GOD IS!!!!!!!!!!!!! The testimony time ended with us singing our theme song for the 4th time of the weekend, which really added the exclamation point to the weekend.

Then we closed today with a final message from DLB, in which he spoke about the Final plans of God for the end times. It was a great closing message and provided all of us with an encouraging word and great hope to look forward to.

I could go on and on about the wild and crazy times that we had, which we did. But that would be too much to write. It was awesome to see a new faces there. Those who came from Canada, PA, and Plainfield. Especially a brother in the Lord named Courtney, John Bosse's friend, who was an outgoing Jamaican, which I loved and clicked off with immediately. He truly turned out to be our spark plug and was the reason why some of us kept going. He is an awesome guy. But, it just wasn't him that made the weekend, it was everyone else too!!!! And I would like to thank everyone who came and hope that they had an awesome experience. I truly had an awesome time and I would say it was the easiest one to direct, help out in worship with, and be a part of. It was truly fantastic to see God work during the retreat and to see how He truly answered all of the minutes and hours of prayer that were spent on this retreat. AMEN!! Hopefully C&C Retreat 06 will be just as awesome. I have a feeling it will, Lord willing.
