listening to the radio in the car this morning, i learned that the cloudy/milky water that can come out of n.y. taps this time of year is a result of extra oxygen bubbles. when water is really cold, it can absorb oxygen with no problem. but in the spring when the water source warms up a bit, the tiny oxygen bubbles are apparent. this same phenomenon is why dead bodies in lakes & rivers will often surface in the springtime. morbid, perhaps, but an interesting bit of trivia nonetheless.
and now i bring you a little piece i made using a recent beachcombing find. i kept the resolution somehwat high so the words could be discerned, but just in case, it reads: he's like a mad inventor who infuses machines with jangling life and reduces people to creaky mechanisms.
