well, things are looking up.
- my ring has returned! well, my original ring is still lost, but a few weeks after that incident i remembered i had bought a duplicate years ago for my friend aviva, who was slightly obsessed with that ring and always asking if she could wear it. her ring broke nottoo long after she got it, but i emailed her on the off chance she had kept the broken ring. luckily, she had, and when i told her how sad i was that i lost mine, she gave me hers. in houston this weekend, i took it to a jeweler.
side note: since i had mentioned the possibility to my mother that dan and i will marry, she insisted we look at rings while at the jeweler. my freaking mother took me ring shopping. what's wrong with this picture?! on the plus side, my mother came across another duplicate she had bought a few years ago. so it now adorns my finger again:
the ring flips. here is the other side:
the old one was slightly bigger, so i could actually flip it while it was still on my finger, making it a very useful gadget for my fidgetry. this one is tighter and can't do it, but that greatly reduces the chances it will get lost.
i took yarn from my sister because it was sitting unloved. she doesn't knit. it's rather nice wool. she also gave me a copy of
knitting pretty, which i might end up putting up on
knitswap .
- i came home to a very lovely package from ambyguity , containing some really luscious yarn:
so sweet & thoughtful! each hank is approx. 116 yards. i have to come up with something really great to showcase this yarn.
any suggestions are welcome. funny that i just bought some yarn in a very similar color palette for my secret pal.
- dan got the 2 days off work next week, so we're definitely going to the falcon ridge folk festival! we got on our first choice of
crews: ice sales. actually having the same schedule (hopefully) will be very different from kerrville.
- we're taking the niece and nephew to an outdoor amphiteater on wednesday for movie night. they're screening harry potter &
the prisoner of azkaban. it's $5 a carload and i'll bring the hoops for pre-movie entertainment because it's fun on the grassy hills.
