So I scheduled a minor outpatient procedure for the first Monday of my 2 week vacation so that it wouldn't interfere with any plans or mess up anything with work. Then on the Wednesday prior to the procedure an ultrasound showed that the laparoscopic procedure wouldn't be a viable option, but the incision wouldn't be too big... Well... things didn't work out quite as planned and I had to stay in the hospital for 2 days, with an incision that is much bigger than I thought that it was going to be. Now they are telling me no work for at least 4 weeks- maybe more. This is a very busy time of year for special eduction teachers, with annual planning reviews and preparations for next year, not to mention a very needy new student set to start on the first Monday back. I am not very happy about the whole thing!
So I have a question for those of you who have had abdominal surgery- do you really need that much recovery time? I feel pretty good today- only painful when I move from sitting to standing, but much better than yesterday already. It just seems like a long time?
just wondering?
thanks
