Said cat instantly hops down and comes to inspect Ion's feet.]

Hello! I didn't meant to startle you. [He was just exploring his new home. Like ya do.]

Yes. Negi said it was alright--it's not a problem, is it? [He looks a little worried about that. He doesn't want to be a burden.]

[Kitty sniffs delicately at his fingers, and then sets up a purring storm, leaning and rubbing against his hand, and then in circles around him, flopping onto her back on his feet.]

[Oh that's so cute! Ion wants to pick the cat up, but Al is offering his hand, so he stands still, not to disturb Kitty, and takes the hand. He's not used to handshakes, though he knows about them, so his grip is tentative and not too confident.]

I'm Ion! [His smile, on the other hand, is as open and trusting and genuine as you could ask for.] It's very nice to meet you Alphonse.

And this is Kitty. You can pet her and pick her up if you like, she loves being carried everywhere.

Can I really? [A wide-eyed look and then he does bend over to gently scoop Kitty up in his arms. He holds her with easy support--she's not a cheagle, but he can figure out how to hold a cat! Even as Fon Master the only real "pets" in the Order were Arietta's monster friends.]
