Insert Chicken Little joke here
I went to see Skyfall today. Apparently I did not see the same fabulous movie that everyone else has seen, for which I deeply apologise *g*. Attractions of this movie:
1. Judi Dench
2. Ralph Fiennes
3. Naomie Harris
4. The London Tube, in its varied aspects, guises, and amusing staff
5. Gratuitous and pretty shots of Shanghai
I think the main problem is that the two male leads did less than nothing for me. I didn't know what to expect from Daniel Craig as Bond, and I'm still waiting. The villain appeared to be attempting to simultaneously channel Buffalo Bill, Jaws, and Loki (not directly; it should be obvious which part I mean). Also, what they clearly needed alongside the old-fashioned radio equipment was a good, solid padlock, with key.
I may have actually fallen asleep. Twice. Oh well, there's always The Hobbit? Actually, I'm slightly worried that I'm going to fall asleep in that, too, on the grounds of pure length. I never did have a great attention span for "action" movies...
