Diet Day 5

Monday morning I began my diet. I've been really good all week. I've been eating Kashi Lean for breakfast, adding a banana, blueberries, strawberries and/or blackberries to help kill the taste of one of the vilest cereals ever invented (WTF are fiber twigs & why am I eating them in my breakfast??) I've been snacking on mango's & other assorted fruit and having a nice salad with dinner with this great raspberry/hazelnut dressing I found that is low calorie, but full of flavor and of course I add walnuts to it for that added Omega 3 boost.
I woke up this morning & hopped on the ole scale and to my amazement I've lost 13 lbs. Now, while I know I'll lose weight fast at the start due to water loss, 13 lbs? I want to lose weight fast, but 13 lbs in 4 days seems a little excessive even to me, but hey, YAY ME! Svelt, here I come!
I've also been really good with the exercising. Weather permitting, I've been walking a lot. I've yet to hit the gym at the resort here, but I went to water aerobics on Monday & Wednesday I went to the 2 hour line dancing class.
Now, you might think line dancing is lame, but let me tell you, its a riot! Especially when the class is full of retired folks who are all out to have a good time. The things these people come out with! I can only assume once you hit a certain age, you've lived your life, you've experienced so many things, seen so many things, good, bad, indifferent. You've finally learned just to enjoy yourself & not give a God damn anymore about what anyone thinks. You realized you've made mistakes in your life, some minor, some major & that there's nothing you can do to change the past so you leave it in the past where it belongs and just concentrate on today and all it offers. You are finally, truly free.
Since I'm using this class as exercise I'm not just moving my feet, as what you do in line dancing, but I'm putting my arms into it too. While I'm no Fred Astaire, I did take tap lessons about 15 years ago & I've always been a decent dancer, so I picked up the steps fairly quickly. After the class I had folks ask me how long I've been line dancing. Umm.. this was my first time. Well, they all thought I was great and that made me feel great.
They have the class 3 days a week, Wednesdays, Fridays & Sundays and I'll be at all of them. With all the walking in the dances it'll help me slim down my hips and help keep my ass from sagging! Always a bonus!
