You Crack Me Up, Little Buddy

HAPPY PURPLE DAY, EVERYBODY. :D I wore a T-Shirt AND socks that were purple.

Day 19: Favorite game based on movie/book/comic/etc

Three guesses, and the first two don't count. :3

Which ones? All of the Telltale games, really, Seasons 1, 2 and 3 (though I'll admit that I have a huge soft spot for Season 1, 'cause that's how I got introduced). I haven't played Sam and Max Hit the Road, which was the very first Sam and Max point-and-click adventure game, but I've seen Let's Plays of it, and when and if I do play it, I'm sure I'll love it, too.

These games are based off of the original comics by Steve Purcell, and to this day, they are the best games to pull off not only material from another medium, but to actually expand on them while becoming their own thing. I will ALWAYS say that; if the day ever comes when another game from another franchise does better, I'll eat a crow.

Anyway. As this picture portrays, you play a dog named Sam and a rabbity thing named Max. You usually play Sam, but Max gets his days in the limelight, too. They're Freelance Police who get cases from the mysterious Comissioner. From there on, it...gets weird. Seriously, a few of these cases involve torture via Yo Momma jokes, disembodied psychic brains in jars, a group of sentient bacteria posing as a cult leader, a possessed Santa Clause, evil former child stars, mole men, sapient gorillas from space...and that doesn't even cover half of it. Through it all are bits and pieces of cultural satire, witty dialogue that'll make you bust a gut laughing, and a relationship between the two titular characters that is actually really touching.

Seasons 1 (Save the World), 2 (Beyond Time and Space) and 3 (The Devil's Playhouse) are available for the PC. Seasons 2 and 3 are available for the Mac, and Seasons 1 and 2 are available for the Wii. GO PLAY THEM YOURSELF. RAIT NAOW.

Day 20: Favorite stress-relieving game

I'm kind of astonished by how addictive this game is, really. It has a premise so basic-coasting along a race track based on whatever song is in your library-it can't be anything other than brilliant. Why hasn't anyone thought of this idea before?

It's interesting how the music affects each racetrack, too; every differing pitch and beat, every time it swells or slows, affects it. It's for the PC, and it's pretty cheap, so if you'd like to see for yourself, give it a go.
