I...just...God, I can't believe it. The guy who provided some of the best writing on one of the best shows I've ever seen is dead. God. This blows. I always wanted to meet him, just to tell him thanks for what he provided. SatAM still has a huge following, more than a decade after it ended, and SU has one, too. I liked what I saw of SU, and SatAM was a huge part of my childhood, what I default to every time the name Sonic the Hedgehog is uttered, and was what got me into fandom in the first place...I would have liked to thank him for that, too. Now I, and several other fans, won't ever get to. The fans who have met him won't ever do so again.

He seemed like such a sweet, well-spoken, warm man, too. It's clear what he put into just the cartoons he wrote for, I wonder what else he might have done? Man, I can't begin to fathom what his family, friends and coworkers must be feeling right now.

Mr. Hurst was a huge inspiration to several people. I think he still will be, because I know that I won't ever forget his work, and I know I'm not the only one.
