My free trial for Sketchbook Pro ran out a while ago, since I was stuck without OpenCanvas for a while and was trying to find another digital sketching alternative. Here's what I've been able to do with it so far...

Wanted to draw a bird, so I did. I guess I've still kinda got Edgar Allen Poe's "The Raven" stuck in my head.

Blaze, in some sort of alternative outfit. Dunno what she's perched on.

Woah, this image came out bigger than I thought it would. Sorry. Anyway: Elora, yet again.

Noodle's eye! 'Cause I can't go a day without drawing her, either, apparently.

From this picture, I think. Jamie Hewlett's style is SO MUCH FUN, you guys, I can't stand it!

I think I posted this pic once before, but I'm doin' it again. Her name is Paz, BTW, and she's rather important to me.

Phoebe Love, my favorite character from Psychonauts! :D Here is probably the, uh, "scribbliest" I'll ever post anywhere. I might ink it later, but I dunno if it'll be worth it.

I think I might've posted this once before, too, but I dunno for sure. I'll ink and color this one, too, eventually.

I'm still not sure. Is it worth purchasing? I'm kinda pleased with some of these results, but I dunno if it's worth it.

On another note, I got access to OpenCanvas again! Here are some more scribbles for you...

This is a scribble of Elora and Zoe from Spyro. In a yuri-ish way. It was for a sketchy art trade done with the awesome razzek . It was supposed to be a sketchy art trade, but I think this one was a bit TOO sketchy. I did another sketch with pencil and Prismacolor marker which I'll eventually post once I get access to a scanner. Hopefully she'll like that one, too.

Knucklehead. I've been drawing a LOT of this bastard lately, I'm not really sure why, but I think he amuses me. As well as the fact that he seems to have the same expression whenever I draw him; I even titled this scribble "My Face is Stuck Like This" in my Scrapbook. Yeah, I...I'm kinda lame like that. SHADDAP. >:(

...Uh, noooo, I wasn't watching Phineas and Ferb. And nooooo, I wasn't also thinking about Sonic the Hedgehog. And nooooo, I was most certainly NOT thinking about what a Mobian Platypus might look like. And noooo, this is definitely NOT the result of that way of thinking. Really. *cough*

Why does she have those knuckle-claw thingies? Interesting, that...Platypode (platypi? platypuses?) are related to Echidnas (they're the only mammals on Earth that lay eggs and don't have mammaries; instead, they have little glands that sweat milk). They also have spurs on their feet, or at least, platypode do; i don't know for certain about echidnas. Since they're related, and platypode have spurs on their feet (the males' are venomous), perhaps that's where Knuckles' original designer came up with the idea for knuckle-claws, and the infamous red hothead's namesake. Which is why this girl here has them.

...I've clearly put too much thought into this. God, what is wrong with me. Plz to be ignoring the horrid hands-on-hips; I remembered only after attempting to draw those miserable things that I can't DRAW hands-on-hips.

Speaking of horrid, deformed hands, here's an example of how hard I've been failing lately; too-long arms and too-big hands! :D

...Don't give me that look. Noodle's 19 now, considered legally do-able in the United States, the United Kingdom, and several other parts of the world. DON'T JUDGE ME. ):<

Here's a more kosher picture of the Axe Princess, around the age of fourteen, I think. An example of when inking and coloring in OpenCanvas 1.1 doesn't go too shabbily.

And an example of when I decide to just color the sketch as-is. And...yeah, it's Isabella Garcia-Shapiro from Phineas and Ferb, I won't deny it. It's a really enjoyable show! Leave me alone!

Because I've gone too long without drawing my OTP. My sister came in when I was working on this, and asked about it. I told her it was because I can't go a day without drawing my OTP, which she responded to with, "But you HAVE. All you ever draw is Noodle!" To my horror and shame, she was right. Because of that, I worked harder and faster to finish this.

She also commented on this, which I'd drawn right next to the picture above. She said it was really cute, which made the whole thing that much better. I think I was watching 'Invasion of the Ferb-Snatchers,' saw the shot of Phineas and Ferb unable to stay awake for the whole marathon but Candace being wide-awake, when I thought, "You know, this would be even cuter if Phineas and Ferb were actually sleeping ON their big sister." Somehow this came out of it. I meant to put Perry in there, but I didn't. NO PLATYPUS FOR YOU. Another super-scribbly one, for your optical pleasure.

And here, we have 2D's SEVERED HEAD. Well, okay, not really, just an attempt at drawing 2D in my own pseudo anime, pseudo cartoon, pseudo nonsensical style. Just 2D, being his perpetually confused pretty boy self.

Now, for those of you who are curious about how my artsy things can go:

This was actually the first picture I ever did in OpenCanvas, I think. I'd like to say that I've gotten better at my inks since then, but I haven't, really.

So, for an alternative coloring method:

This one was fun, just 'cause the idea's been bouncing around in my head for a while. I get the feeling Noodle and Cyborg Noodle wouldn't like each other, at first. I worked on this with this song and this song in mind. The thing Cyborg's holding is a gun, BTW. Apologies-I don't know the first thing about guns, or about drawing them. If I ever clean this thing up, I think I'll look into research on that.

...Wow, I draw AND write too much, don't I?

gorillaz, phineas and ferb, spyro the dragon, sonic the hedgehog, psychonauts, arts, fandom, fanart
